The assembler-welder is responsible for manufacturing and assembling metal parts according to drawings and technical specifications.
Responsibilities :
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
- Preparation of parts to be welded, including grinding, fitting and assembly.
- Use welding equipment (TIG, MIG, coated electrode, etc.) to assemble metal parts.
- Visual inspection of welds to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
- Use of cutting, grinding and forming tools and machines.
- Compliance with safety standards and work procedures.
Qualifications
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in welding and assembly, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in welding techniques (TIG, MIG, coated electrode) and assembly processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams.
- Knowledge of metallic materials and their properties.
- Ability to use welding and assembly tools and equipment.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Compliance with safety standards and work procedures.
Additional skills (assets) :
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Welding certification (e.g. CWB in Canada, AWS in the U.S.).
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
Advantages
Salary between $25 and $33 per hour + evening bonus + full benefits.
